Bio

Aseda Safoa Bekoe-Sakyi is a musician, composer, songwriter, and visual artist currently based in Seattle, WA.

She is passionate about telling stories of people and experiences through many vibrant mediums of artistic expression. Though she is primarily a songwriter and vocalist, she also greatly enjoys work in composing, filmmaking, dance, and photography. Aseda received her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Double Emphasis in Composition and Production from Seattle Pacific University.

From a very young age, Aseda has had an imagination that has spurred her creativity throughout her life. As she grew as a musician, writer, and woman, her fascination with the human experience and complex emotional phenomena such as love and grief became the central focus of her musical storytelling.

Aseda is a proud lifelong learner and values every experience in performing, educating, and creating. She continues honing her craft by taking lessons, collaborating with other artists and friends, and finding ways to stretch her performance skills. Experiences such as singing the National Anthem at the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, directing and composing for short films, leading worship ministry, and teaching dance to young students have been valuable in forming her into an artist that takes on challenges with positivity, courage, and freedom.

She is continuously excited and inspired by her faith and the beauty of life around her, and loves to find new avenues to communicate perplexing ideas in simple ways with her artistic creations. Her desire is to bring her years of experience into creative spaces in order to foster connections through and despite the differences and challenges we face.

As a musician and a storyteller, it is my mission to create music that feels like a soundtrack to life—honest, emotional, and cinematic at its core.

Rooted in classical training, I’ve always been drawn to the ways melody and harmony can tell a story without words. That foundation has shaped how I write, arrange, and produce songs that live at the intersection of raw vulnerability and lush soundscapes. Think strings and synths, piano and percussion, layers and poetry—all working together to make you feel something.

My sound as a songwriter lives somewhere between folk, indie pop, and R&B/gospel—a space shaped by the artists who inspire me: Tori Kelly’s vocal fire, Yebba’s soul-stirring honesty, Alessia Cara’s storytelling, LÉON’s atmosphere, and Novo Amor’s cinematic depth. I write music for people who crave emotional connection. For those who find home in harmony and healing in melody.

As much as I love crafting songs for my own voice, my heart is equally drawn to scoring stories on screen. I have composed pieces that zoom in on the smallest moments and make them larger than life, as well as works that take grand ideas and simplify them— this is one of my favorite aspects of scoring and writing contemporary classical music. I hope to bring my musical sensibilities into the world of film and visual media, where every chord can deepen a moment, and every texture can bring a scene to life.

Whether it’s a quiet folk confession, a gospel-inspired anthem, or a sweeping string arrangement, my music is always an invitation—to feel, to reflect, to remember you’re not alone.

making music that moves you.
